Sciatica is a general term used to describe the symptom of buttock or leg pain. Sciatica can be caused by a disc herniation, spinal stenosis, facet joint arthritis, SI joint (sacroiliac) dysfunction, or even hip arthritis. Depending on the cause of sciatica, there are non-operative and operative treatments available.
